DataUX abstracts away the complexities of working with a game engine. It provides a concise set of APIs which a developer uses in a web app to create a 3D space (with default lighting and cameras) in an HTML5 canvas and to connect representative objects in that space with corresponding data streams and interactive behaviours.
Writing a web application based directly on a game engine (whether Unity, Unreal, Babylon.js, etc.) requires knowledge of game development and results in a “one-off” and likely hard-coded implementation. Using DataUX, data feeds can be easily added, removed, or modified. Development is focused on the applications driven by data as opposed to a game with set objects and behaviours.
DataUX is implemented using an open source Apache 2.0 licensed game engine and requires no third-party licenses.
